Unitary Devon

The Boundary Committee is still working on proposals.  They came up with a first set of proposals in July 2008.  Their latest, in March 2009, highlights two options - a) single unitary Devon and b) two unitary authorities comprising unitary Exeter with Exmouth and a remainder unitary Devon.  The parish council has responded to the Bounday Committee consultation at both opportunities:-

Planning Charter for Town and Parish Councils

The Planning Charter has been adopted by Teignbridge District Council and will guide its future relationship with the Town and Parish Councils on planning matters.

In due course, we might be able to progress toward becoming a "Quality Parish Council" but at present (Nov 2009) the council has some way to go to comply with the Quality Status requirements.
